What’s included?

The programme kicks off with 14 personal 1 hour sessions, either face to face or via Skype, learning the habits and principles.

After each session, you get a personal follow up email with a summary, examples and exercises to help you practice.

After completing the programme, you continue to receive simple, weekly tips by email to keep you on course.

This is supplemented by fortnightly newsletters with ideas worth sharing such as TED talks, articles and examples from others in the Proactive People network.

If you’re interested in becoming a Proactive Person we can meet face to face to discuss the programme then we can each decide whether we would enjoy and benefit from working with each other.
Finding the right mentor / mentee match is important.

Your weekly sessions – when and where

Each session lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour and 15 minutes. I don’t work on the clock. I’m more interested in making sure you understand what I’m teaching and I’m always happy to speak on the phone or reply to messages and emails if you have any further questions.

Most sessions will be over Skype – it’s just a better use of both our time. But I do believe strong relationships are built face to face so some sessions we can arrange to meet. Usually I would come to you either to your office or I find hotel lobbies to be quiet, comfortable and discreet.

Some people understand and apply their learning straight away and others take months to. Everybody learns differently and what I find in particular is for those people under a lot of pressure, firefighting every day – these people take longer than those who have the mental capacity to try something new and self reflect.

Following each session I’ll send an email with a summary of what we discussed along with some examples and exercises for you to practice to help you focus on the particular habit or principle.

At the start of the next session we will go over the previous session and discuss how you got on with the exercises. Most exercises are about you looking at things in a particular way, refelecting on it, testing the boundaries, reflecting on it again. For anything to have value I believe you need to apply the learning and see the benefit for yourself, then your brain is more likly to want to do it again, and again and again until it just becomes a natural state of mind.

Once we have completed all of the sessions you’ll get a fortnightly newsletter which will provide you with a constant reminder of what we have learned, provide links to relevant TED talks, promote other Proactive People’s experiences and share ideas.
